History

My Chef Catering, nestled in the heart of the Chicago suburbs, has a rich history that goes back to 1989. Founded by the dynamic duo, Bill and Karen Garlough, we began our culinary journey as a gourmet deli and kitchen, expertly catering modest social gatherings, corporate breakfasts, and luncheons. Over the years, our commitment to quality and service has transformed us into one of the largest and most esteemed caterers in the area.

In 2016, a significant change took place. The baton was passed on from Bill and Karen, as they ventured into a well-deserved retirement, to three dedicated employees: Dominick Scafidi, Mark Walter, and Megan Rousonelos. Having managed their individual departments for years, this trio brought fresh zeal and continued the legacy of My Chef.

Our commitment to excellence hasn't gone unnoticed. In recent years, we've been graced with several accolades, marking our 5th consecutive year as "Best of Naperville" and making us proud members of the Knot and Wedding Wire Hall of Fame. 

Yet, while recognition is always appreciated, our heart lies in our community. We have always been and continue to be community champions, echoing the sentiments of our founders. Each year, we take pride in supporting local organizations with generous donations, believing in the collective growth and welfare of the community.

The unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic tested businesses and communities nationwide. My Chef Catering faced the challenge head-on. We stood shoulder-to-shoulder with our brave first responders, providing meals to the diligent nurses and national guardsmen stationed at local testing centers. As the world went digital, we swiftly adapted by introducing online ordering, ensuring that our patrons always had access to sumptuous meals.

Today, My Chef Catering is more than just a catering service. We are a culinary hub, always on the quest for food innovation, introducing new tastes and styles to the people of Naperville. Moreover, as we flourish, we ensure our surrounding small businesses, friends, and families do too.
