What will I be doing?

As an Coordinator in the Catering and Events, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting several Event Executives.

Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

To organize, plan and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals.

Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.

Handling phone calls, e-mails and greeting clients for Catering and Events in a professional, courteous manner.

Inputting programs in booking systems, managing VIP guest arrangements, and coordinating site visits.

Creating and communication of documents including but not limited to event proposals, invoices, post event reports, menus, diagrams/floor plans.

Working with affiliate groups and venues.

Assist with clients and deliver on the client’s expectations.

Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes.

Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution for the client.

Ensure high quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand the guest needs.

Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.

The position of Catering Sales Manager requires securing new business with quick response to leads generated via incoming phone calls, email inquiries, or referrals from existing clients or preferred list of venues.  This position will be responsible for all aspects of customer communication including the initial contact, working one-on-one with the customer in creating a menu plan, specifying all necessary equipment, staffing, site checks and supervising events as necessary.  Flexible scheduling and availability to work Saturdays a must.

Types of events include, but are not limited to showers, rehearsal dinners, religious celebrations, graduation parties – all take place at off site at venues or private homes.  This position would handle all of our smaller social events.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate must have a minimum 4 years of off-premise catering sales experience with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.  Candidate must be dependable, personable, professional, creative and have the dedication to ensure we exceed our client’s expectations.  Must be a team player and able to professionally interact with all groups related to the business including, but not limited to, office and kitchen staff, delivery department, service staff, vendors, planners, venue personnel and guests.
