My Chef's History:
My Chef Catering is a family-owned business based in Naperville since 1989. Founded by
Bill and Karen Garlough, the business began as a 4,500 sq. ft. gourmet deli and kitchen,
catering simple social events and corporate breakfasts and luncheons.
Thanks to Karen and Bill’s insistence on quality and service, the catering business grew
significantly, requiring My Chef to move from the small store-front to its current 14,000 sq. ft.
location. The facility features a full-service kitchen, offices, conference and tasting rooms and
a warehouse for catering rental items and equipment. The facility also has a heated garage
for delivery vehicles and loading dock for daily fresh food delivery.
Today, My Chef Catering is a multi-million dollar catering operation that works with more than
850 corporate clients and thousands of social customers, many of whom were referrals
from other clients.
Owners Bill and Karen Garlough have Fortune 100 sales experience and strong backgrounds
in marketing, which have served them well in the growth of their company. Their priority has
always been on customer service as well as hiring and maintaining a staff of talented chefs,
outstanding sales executives, professional wait staff and friendly delivery drivers. In fact, in an
industry of revolving door turnover, Karen and Bill’s employees have stayed with My Chef for
an average of 7 years.
Karen and Bill Garlough have been married since 1978 and business partners since 1989.
They say they owe their success in marriage and in business to each other and the strong bond that
they share. Karen and Bill also say they are pleased to have a first rate staff that they consider
their extended family.
